King's College/TCC Survey

Enclosed with this newsletter is a short article, setting out the interim findings of a survey that has been carried out by King's College in association with the Technology and Construction Court.  This survey is looking into the use of mediation, and its actual usage in respect of construction litigation.  This is the first time that the Technology and Construction Court has worked with and assisted a research of this nature.  It therefore provides an invaluable insight into the use of mediation in construction disputes.

The research is only part way through, and will not finally conclude until next summer.  Nonetheless, the attached article sets out some initial findings, which might be of interest.

This research is partly funded by the Society.

Papers

There are a number of excellent papers in the pipeline for publication: some will be printed in hard copy: some will be published on the website only. A reminder that, if you have not already done so, you can opt to have SCL papers emailed to you by accessing your own details on the website and selecting this option, or ask Admin to do it for you.
