WELCOME
Since its foundation in 1983, the Society of Construction Law has worked to promote for the public benefit education, study and research in the field of construction law and related subjects (including adr, arbitration and adjudication), both in the UK and overseas.
The Society now has
1956
members from all sectors of the construction industry. It is run by a Council of 20 elected members.
The Society holds frequent meetings and other events in London and around
the country.
The Society welcomes new members, both 'full' and 'overseas e-members'. Read more about benefits, and how to apply.
We have regional coordinators in many parts of UK & Eire, and contacts with Societies in Europe and Hong Kong.

NEW WEBSITE TO BE LAUNCHED EARLY APRIL
We are pleased to announce that SCL will be launching a brand new website in early April. The website has been redesigned from the ground up, to provide a strong web presence for the Society for years to come.
In the run up to the launch there will be some temporary disruption to our services. The following have been closed until the launch of the new site:

We hope that the new website will go live at the beginning of the week commencing 6 April. If you have any queries about any aspect of the process, please email the webmaster.
AGM AND ANNUAL DINNER
The Society's AGM and Annual Dinner, which is for members only, will take place on Wednesday 13 May. Booking details will be announced shortly. Online bookings will be available on the new SCL website which is due to launch in the week beginning April 6.

HUDSON PRIZE 2008
The SCL Hudson Prize Judging Panel is pleased to announce the results in the 2008 competition. Sarah Pengelly will present her prize winning paper at the National Liberal Club on Monday, 5 May. The closing date for the 2009 competition is 4 January 2010.
DISPUTE BOARD CONFERENCE
The Dispute Resolution Board Foundation's (DRBF) 9th Annual International Conference will be held on 16-17 May in London, UK. An annual gathering of Dispute Board practitioners and users of the process, this year’s conference will address “Dispute Boards Worldwide: Practical applications in common law and civil law jurisdictions” with an emphasis on the use of DBs in differing legal environments. A one-day training workshop will be held on 15 May in conjunction with the conference. For more information, contact the DRBF at www.drb.org. SCL members are entitled to the same discount as DRBF members. If you are a member and would like to receive this discount, please email our administrator for the special code needed.
