GOVERNMENT CONSULTATION
The Adjudication Society responded to the Government consultation on changes to the Construction Act. BERR have now published their analysis of responses and have also published a draft Bill clauses (and Explanatory Note) developed in light of the 2007 consultation. These documents and an Impact Assessment on the provisions in the draft clauses can be found on the BERR website. The Government's intention to introduce amendments to the Construction Act was announced in Preparing Britain for the Future - the Draft Legislative Programme 2008-09 which was published on 15 May. This also announced that BERR would expose draft clauses to technical scrutiny before they are introduced to Parliament. The Adjudication Society has now been invited to respond on the draft Bill clauses. If you have any comments on the detail contained in them we would be happy to receive them by the 29th August. Your comments should be sent to Tony Bingham at info@tonybingham.co.uk.
